Does anyone know where/how I can make a box like that in the picture? I have to make one for class, but I'm not sure if I need to look for a place that prints and custom-makes a box, or if I should look for some kind of special laminating place.

It has to be thick and sturdy like a cardboard. Or maybe I should build a cardboard box and cover it with some kind of a cloth that I can run in a printer. Any ideas?

Can your printer print on cardboard paper? then you can just fold it into a box?

no, sadly my printer doesn't work with thick papers. I think the cardboard paper is too thick anyway for any printers...:-(

Sylvia,
Maybe you can get those transfer letters that you rub onto surfaces. The kind that comes on a clear plastic sheet, and usually a wooden utensil. I think you can get them at craft stores and maybe at one of the stationary stores on 19th street. I think the one across the street from Books Of Wonders might have them, or maybe A.I Friedman too.
Good luck with your project:)

Ooooooooh, Jasmine!
That's a really good idea. Do you know what they are called? I think I will go check them out. Thanks!!!

They're called rub on transfers, rub on letters... Just google it, and you'll get online shops which might be a cheaper alternative if you have time to wait for it to get to you.
I think it's become popular with the scrapbook craze, and so I'm pretty certain the shops I mentioned on 19th st. will have them.
Let me know if you find them:)

I googled it, and there's a lot of different ways to transfer images using that technique. I think I will buy the Rub-onz at blick art store. I went to both AI friedman and paper presentation's websites and I didn't see it there.

But I found a website called Tilano.net, and they have a really cool kit you can use to transfer images on plates and things like that. I'm tempted to buy that too. Thanks a bunch! This was reallllly helpful. :-)
